Radiator Woes, Can't catch a break.
So the radiator finally kicked the bucket. I noticed a slight leak on the drivers side frame rail just below the radiator. It appears to be coming from the seam between the plastic and the metal. Sucks, I litterally just got the truck back on friday from replacing both heads due to cracks. I just can't catch a freaking break with this thing. I put ~8k in the top end replacing everything that was problematic. The reason for that tear down was headgaskets only to find out 3 months later that not only were the gaskets bad but the heads were also cracked. Its my opinion that the 08s should have been sent off to scrap and that the 09s and 10s should have been the onlys ones sold to the public. NOTE TO ANYONE still reading NEVER I repeat NEVER buy a first model year. This is not the first time I made this mistake but it will be the last. I bought a Jeep wrangler rubicon in 07 that had more issues than I can type.
So after all that whining does anyone have a link to a good tear down proceedure to get the radiator out and back in? I found a few links talking about the Vista Pro radiators. I purchased one last night from WM Automotive for $563 shipped off Ebay. Hope it holds up better than the ford OEM. Also i saw a tool for getting the air out of the system. The UView 550000 Airlift cooling system leak checker and airlock purge tool kit. Anyone had any good experience with it?
