6.4 intermittent rough idle & wrench symbol
Hey everyone, my work truck is a 2008 F-450. It's bone stock with 228,000 miles on it currently. At 219,000 miles it got 8 new injectors, a new high pressure fuel pump, and 2 new turbos. My problem is about 2 weeks ago it ran rough when first started and the wrench light came on. If you shut the truck off and restart it, it runs fine and will continue to do so all day. This has happened 3 times in the past two weeks and its totally sporadic and I cant recreate the problem for the mechanic. When you scan for codes it shows the following: P0672,P0674,P0676,P0678 ( all which pertain to the glow plug circuit on Cylinders 2,4,6,8) and codes P0272 (cylinder 4 contribution/balance) P0278 (cylinder 6 contribution/balance) and finally P0304 (cylinder 4 misfire). We have swapped the glow plug module for a new one and the codes for the glow plugs still come back. The truck has been back to the mechanic twice and he cant seem to find anything wrong, and it always runs fine for him. He did say it passed the high pressure test so he doesnt feel its a bad injector or anything. This is where I need help, does anyone have any ideas what could be going wrong? Im thinking possibly a wiring issue or something? Thank you for your time and help!
