Slight whine at light throttle?

Just began to notice a slight whine today when I was driving along at a slight throttle. Seems to never go away no matter what the speed if you listen carefully. Am I being too picky or is this just another problem to add to my list. I heard on another site that it could be the fuel/cooling system is this true and have any of you guys heard the same noise. Only hear it if the radio is off and you are barely on the go pedal

I read the other thread too. Does the whine change in pitch if you feather the pedal more/less, VERY slightly? I know on mine, at a very light throttle, 25-30mph (tires are quieter), radio off... I can hear the turbos making a light whine if I ease into it very slightly. (Keep in mind, I'm spinning 38's, so speeds / load to ge the sound may be different on yours.) Miine seems to make the light wine around the 8psi through 13psi transition. I love it... wish it were louder like the 6.0's.

If your truck is totally stock, I'd say it sounds like the turbos to me......I think your being just little picky

You are probably right and I am just paranoid now that it was in the shop for the tapping, knocking noise that I Definately have. I guess we shall see. Thanks

When it gets really hot. Probably in the summer the noise will probably be heard after the engine is off if it's the cooler fan.

If you can't hear it at idle it's probably not that cooler fan.

Maybe you should check the air cleaner and make sure everything is sealed good. (turbo noise)

My truck had a whine/ whistle at about 65mph when new 5/07, finally got fed up and started taking things apart. Found a blue capplug in the small tube going into the air cleaner.
