EGR Valve
Check engine light came on today when I started the truck. Cleared the EGR code with my spartan tune just to see if it was a fluke. Drove about 3 miles and gave it a bit of gas to make a light and it had no power. Turned around filled the tank up. When I started the truck for the second time EGR was back up. I've got a few questions.
Will 5 miles of easy driving mess with anything else? Should I replace the EGR valve myself for $200 in parts? Or should I buy a delete, exhaust (was going to order this weekend anyway) and then run a higher HP tune? |

If you don't have to worry about emissions testing and have the time then I would just delete the egr. I am assuming you meant you are planning on doing the dpf delete anyways?

Yes I was going to order an exhaust this weekend anyway. What is a good kit to order for a EGR kit? Emission testing is required here but its just a visual. And I know a shop owner real well so the visual is what his eyes see.

All the kits do the same job so it's just a matter of what appeals to you, whether a chrome elbow or a blue elbow like the sinister one for examples. I would get one that includes the elbow to replace the stock elbow no matter which kit you went with.
