2008 6.4 L problems
Hi, Im considering a 2008 superduty with the 6.4L powerstroke.
I hear lots of bad things about this engine, mainly that they blow at around 100K miles. How true is this and what kind of problems can I expect with this engine? thanks greg |

There are plenty of guys with 100k + miles on their 6.4's. they seem to last longer tuned and emissions deleted. Just search and scroll thru different threads on here. The 6.4 modified or stock is powerful and reliable. It all comes down to maintenance and fixing any small problems before they lead to catastrophic failures.

I blew a head gasket at 98k. But that's because I was running the hell out of it. Luckily I got it warrantied. I have a whole new respect for the truck. Great trucks, you just gotta delete the EGR and the dpf. That's the minimum

Keep in mind that people dont get on forums to bi*ch about how well thier trucks are running, they get on to complain when their are issues. I have an 08 with 165K on it and other than a sensor on the DPF, have never had a single issue with it.

If I could thumbs up Jim I would but isn't it weird fir every 2009 and 2010 you see there's three 2008s I'm guessing its because loans are up right about now and it Tim for aa new truck and the 08 was popular cuz of the redesign. Y'all got any theories
