truck making noise, brakes feel weird
I went out of town for a week and when I came and got in the truck it is making an odd noise and brakes feel funny. The noise sounds like it is right in front of the steering wheel, with no throttle it is a low humming sound and when you press the throttle it speeds up and makes a louder higher pitch sound. The brake petal feels different, it has a catching feeling in it and I can feel vibration in it when I push it. Also fluid was leaking from the fitting in the pic below
![]() I think it is brake related due to the symptoms I described, but I dont know. Any help would be great. Thanks Last edited by tblg700; 01-02-2013 at 06:40 PM. |

Also a pinkish fluid was dripping from that fitting, but no fluids seem to be low. Surely someone can help.

Well after 2 hours of reading and searching on here I figured it out. The power steering fluid was a little low, which caused the brakes to feel weird and the annoying whine. Added a little fluid and everything is back to normal. Plan to do a flush within the next few days. I'm fully aware of the "powersteering" whine but the brakes were throwing me off, hope this helps someone else.

Good to know. Mine was on the low side, so I should probably top it off.
