6.4 losing antifreeze.. Help.

Im new to this forum and to owning my 2008 f350 swr. Job 3.
I've had the truck a little over a month and at the beginning of this week it started losing some coolant and will white smoke some. Mechaine says the egr is bad causing it to leak antifreeze and blow some out my pipe. So I ordered a egr delete and mini maxx.

I have a few questions, do you all think it's the egr bad? Also I'm delete my cat, dpf and muffler and I was wondering what's a good daily driver hp tune that won't blow my transmission or slip it. Thanks!!

Also my check engine light came on when I was on my way home after noticing it had coolant lost. The 3 codes are P0480- fan 1 control circuit, P0528- fan speed sensor circuit no signal, and P0337- crankshaft position sensor a circuit low, also the egr code come up most of the time? Are these normal codes I would see or is it my egr bad causing them to read that. They just came on my way home from work. The check engine light was never on until then.

I can't say for the codes you're getting, but I would suspect an EGR cooler as well. The tuner and full delete should resolve that of course. I preferred the standard H&S tunes and you should be safe to run the Mild (80hp) and Wild settings (175hp), even the Hot (250hp) on occasion will be fine. The 6.4 motor and trans is quite stout, just use your better judgement and don't drive it like you stole it...

Thanks for the fast reply, the parts just came in last night so I should have the delete on tonight. The mini maxx said it was built just last month and it already has the hot damn tune on it.. That's more then what I'm wanting though, hows the 175 run? Or would I be better running the easy level 120 tune?

If you run the easy tunes, they function the egr while the mild and hot damm don't so it all depends on if you want your egr functioning.

Yeah just run whatever tune makes you feel most comfortable. You don't want to drive around all the time worrying. And since you're deleting the egr you don't have to worry about the lower tunes functioning the egr.

I may be wrong here but the higher tune you run the better MPG you will get. Run the HD300 tune and like someone else here said, drive it responsibly. I have the mini and I run the HD300 tune all day, except when towing my boat then I run HD300 but back down the power.

The Mini Maxx automatically turns the EGR system off when installed, and to properly delete the EGR you will need to add an external Wastegate system to relieve excess drive pressures from the factory compounds.. We have seen one to many failures to just sell blocker plates instead of the Proper wastegate kit... Just something to keep in mind.

Sounds like you have a cracked EGR cooler.
