Turbo spooling higher?

I raced my buddy in his duramax this morning because he just needed to be beat. I did a 10lb boosted launch in 4wd and once I got to about 4th gear I noticed the black smoke turned to grey. Now it seems like my turbo spools higher than it normally did before. There is no more grey smoke but it was kinda weird and freaked me out a little. Maybe I'm being paranoid because this is the first time I raced someone in my truck. Should I be concerned?

2008 6.4l Minmaxx (HD300/HOT), dpf/doc delete, factory exhaust, factory air filter

BTW, I obviously beat the tuned durtymax.

I am having a similar problem. I have a 2010 and was running the HD300/HOT tune for the first time last Sunday and blew the bottom silicone boot off the hot side of the intercooler. I bought a new boot and just put it back together and now I seem to creating a lot more boost much earlier than before (or so I am thinking?? could be paranoid as well cause I am staring at the gauge the whole time?) Didn’t have any grey smoke issue before or after but now when I mash the pedal the power feels to be very on and off again or almost pulsating during hard acceleration? Do you notice any power differences/changes now? I was going to post but I am curious to see what everyone thinks your problem might be.

I don't think I have any power changes. I will get back to you when I have more time to drive the truck around. I only drive it 3-4 days a week.

I don't have any grey smoke or faster spooling turbos. But I do have barely noticible power spikes when I mash on the skinny pedal, not sure if its related or anything to worry about or at least I hope not. I just figured it was hitting its power range.
