weeping from rear main/trans pump found during oil change

So the other day during an oil change I found a bunch of seepage at the rear of the engine where the tranny bolts up. It was dry enough to not be able to tell if it was oil or tranny fluid but was enough to cause concern. Common problem or something to be worried about? Also, check the tranny fluid and found the stick dry with rust on it. Did some searching and it seems a rusty dipstick tube is the culprit, anyone else have this happen?

Just had my 2010 in for an oil leak that was all over the back of oil pan front of tranny ended up being cam sensor o-rings. I would clean oil off and then run and see if you can find it if not under warranty. Tranny dipstick is like that on my 10 and was on my 08 also don't have a solution for you.

I just got the replacement dipstick, tube, gasket and filter but now I'm thinking I should put a deep pan on it as well. Stealership pulled me over the coals on the parts and fluid, bastards. Gonna do the cleanup and see if I can spot where its coming from like you said. How hard is it to change those orings like you said?

I am not sure as mine was done under warranty, but had truck back a couple hours after they got parts.

Just an update:

I'very decided to put a deep trans pan on now and I'm researching which one to go with. Also, I'm currently away from home on vacation but as soon as I'm back I'll be tackling the source of the leak and the trans repair. Stay tuned.
