2008 6.4 problems
I just bought this truck at an auction. Had to add anti freeze the tak was empty. Good oil. Motor smokes white, seems like oil is coming out exhaust, one turbo is making noise until you rev it then it goes away. truck makes no power. The motor it self seems fine i mean like the bottom end. no noise there. I have a 05 6.0 and had to delete the egr. So I am a little familiar with fords but not with 6.4 Any help would be greatly appreciated. Truck has 117,000 miles and I bought it cheap.

The first thing I recommend is hooking it up to some sort of scan gauge and checking deltas and everything that you can like ficm voltage and all that good stuff. There is a possibility that one of the turbos could be going bad. Don't quote me on this but there might be a possibility you could take the said turbo apart and clean it all up and have good luck with it. but then again you might have to replace the turbo. I'm not certain though. I am a 6.0 owner as well. But I'm sure you can search on here and find more information about turbo issues on this site for sure.

The 6.0 does not have an FICM. It sounds like its a turbo seal if its smoking white and oil is coming out the exhaust. I agree that you should check the ECT/EOT delta.

i suppose you still have the egr coolers? Is it puking coolant out the degas bottle?

I found the degas bottle. Not puking out there. Just out exhaust. Egr cooler is stock. Think it's bad. What does the d gas bottle do? Also no power. Won't spool up. Is it possible the turbos are dirty?
