Ford part or an aftermarket replacement part is what they are asking.

The denso and motorcraft alternators will not interchange. Physically they will but it will cause a problem with the way the PCM monitors the alternator through the can-bus and you'll get a charging system mil. I think they started using denso in the 2010 models but it may have been in earlier ones.

Exclamation

If there is a pcm issue with using the wrong branded alternator. Are any of you having issues with aftermarket HO ones? DC or M2k. What about the higher than factory output? Do you or can you flash the pcm?

I have a job 1 2008 6.4 f250 with a single alternator.
