rough idle & white smoke

2008 f350 6.4

If i let it idle for over 5min, it idles rough and sounds loud like an old dodge.

sometimes when it does this it will start to blow white smoke.

Ck eng light is on, but i havent checked the codes

If i turn it off and start it back up, it goes away.

If i try to drive while it does this, it sputters bad.

sounds like what happen to me on my 08 250 6.4 would start it in the morning and while i was brushing off the snow ( this was over the winter) it would start to sound like a old dodge and fill my parking lot with white smoke never had a cel tho if i shut it off it would be fine

anyway took it to ford turned out the egr cooler went bad before i bought it and toasted the bottom end 3 weeks later got my truck back hope this helps good luck to you

so the bottom end of your motor was bad?

did you have to rebuild it?

no as far as i know they ordered a short block under warranty and slapped it all back together

pulled the code today and p0308 cyl #8 misfire.

do could this be a bad injector?

if so how do i test it?

when i had a buddy scan mine i came up with a code for cyl # 2 misfire i would say if the truck is still under warrenty take to ford let me figure it out

im having the same problem. ford has replaced the sleeve and not the whole injector, and still bad.
