Cylinder 7 contribution/ Balance Spartan

Ok, I have a 08 F450 with 23K on it. It has been Spartanized with DPF delete, CAI, and exhaust for the last 10K. Been getting a cylinder 7 contribution/ balance code for some time now. Not sure if the code comes first or the symptoms. If the throttle is held at an exact position, like for maintaining highway speed, the truck will every once in a while have a hiccup like if you were to turn the ignition off and back on in a split second. This is not everytime you are on the highway, it is very unpredictable. Speed does not matter happens the same at 45, 65, 75 ect. When this happens, you can see FRP drop and the truck shutters like you side stepped the throttle. Up until now I have just cleared the code and learned to deal with it. Yesterday after work started the truck to warm up, had been sitting for around 14 hrs not plugged in, outside temp aroud 32 degrees. Everthing seemed normal when about 5 minutes into warming up the truck started smoking and running extremely rough. Like it was only firing on half of the cylinders. I pulled codes and it was the normal cylinder 7 cont. and also cylinder 7 misfire. Cleared codes restarted truck and has been fine since. Now I have been to ford several times, I am a snap on dealer and have a few buddies that work there. Cant figure out why it is doing this. Tried going back to stock and still get cyl 7 cont/bal code. Any ideas?

that typically means the injector is going bad.......it is not contributing and misfiring.

I would say injector or also a broken rocker will throw that code.

Check the connectors first. Had the same issue with my 450 and it turned out to be a reseat the connector issue, after that all is good....
