Did all this fixing up and now have a PO401 code

Got a 08 F250 Quad cab, long bed 6.4 Already had a rhino bed liner, Amp auto steps and a Pioneer Navigation DVD head unit, 6" lift, 35" tires on some aftermarket chrome rims. I did get an upper radiator hose leak I had to get fixed and put some new batteries in it which sucked. But since then its been good. Finished installing a rear view camera that turns on when I put it in reverse, got the auto start working on it, added a Spartan tuner with DPF and Cat delete with custom dash mount for the display, just got in the mail today my S&B CAI, got a 1 cubic foot box to go behind the passenger rear seat with a rockford 10" slimline sub (box might need to be trimmed though, is a little wide) along with a 600 watt MTX amp, got a trifold bed cover and a over the cab pop up style camper for summer. Been a good couple months.

I'm only running the 175 tune until I get the CAI installed and up the power. My question is since I haven't yet installed the CAI to use the big tune with EGR turn off option I'm now getting error code PO401. With the higher tune will the EGR turn off alleviate this problem or is this the sign of a bigger problem spoiling my recent fun? Been driving with a check engine light on now for quite a few days.

i had that code a long time ago and it was its to do with the egr valve i took it in and my valve was toast and you could tell when you were driving when ever the valve went to open or close im not sure.....the truck had no power if i floored it so i had to turn it off and start it up again and it would be fine for a while.....im not sure if because you turned off the egr its throwing a code but i bet your valve just needs replacing but since your shutting it off anyways i really wouldnt worry about it if all the power is still there

I haven't shut it off yet cause I haven't installed the cai to run the larger tune that shuts it off. It does have full power though. Good to know you didn't have any issues though
