When standing on opposite side of where the exhaust exits or in front of truck, I hear a almost lopeing kind of exhaust note.
When under the hood it sounds like its come from either intake or passenger side of the engine.
Also weary of the different noises the engine makes while on the highway. They are never the same and never consistent. One day its a slight rattle at certain rpm range while under load and next day its a completely different noise and then some days sounds fine.
I always let truck get warm before driving and don't even get close to goin rough on it unless its at operating temps.

How many miles on your truck. We have been seeing alot of these 6.4's with bad rocker arms. They usually make a rattle noise but if they get bad enough it may start to pop through the intake, and i have seen them get really bad and bend pushrods.
