08 6.4 coolant smell in cab

I have a 08 6.4 with 75k on it ,Iam getting some coolant smell in the cab ,if you drive it for about an hour at highway speeds ,not loaded ,you get the odor sometimes, I have owned the truck for the last 5k , my first Diesel ,have not seen any coolant loss ,it is stock ,it has been pulled some I assume it has the gooseneck in it . The truck runs great besides the turbo lag and the 15mpg

Mine does this also but I have a coolant leak up front near the lower portion of the EGR cooler. They can't seem to fix it so I keep taking it back.

As for the turbo lag, just change out your intake and run the EPA approved K&N. That will smooth things right out. You're pretty much stuck with the fuel mileage. I get about 10 around town and maybe 15 on the highway.

Thanks ,I also noticed this morning going to work .I tryed to pass and it acts like it was misssing and was blowning out white smoke for about 15 secounds , have read some post on this( EGR cooler) maybe is there an upgrade on this and maybe mine has not beeen changed out yet?

We manufacture and sell Bullet Proof Diesel EGR coolers for the 6.4L engine, both Horizontal and Vertical models. Im not sure that our products will fix your particular problem (at least at this time), but, should the need arise, we have them ready to go.
