Pecking sound after oil change

Had the oil changed at dealership today at 2400 miles to get break in oil out of truck. When dealership was done with truck I got in and fired it up and now there is a pecking sound. I confirmed they used correct oil, filter and oil level was good. Their diesel mechanic climbed around underneath and drove truck. When he came back him and the service manager said it may have an air pocket around one of the lifters and it should go away. Have any of you had this issue with any of the diesels? This makes me very concerned and I hope I am worried over nothing.

Thanks, Larry

I agree, I e-mailed Ford tonight to let them know what the dealer told me. I will check oil level again. Will keep you posted, the truck has been great and still runs great but has this knocking since they changed oil. Driving me crazy.

The air theory is not logically possible. They only change the oil in the pan and that does not have anything to do with the oil in the motor at the time the oil is changed.

Is it only at idle?

Does your truck have an oil pressure gauge? Mine does not.

It could be the injectors. My parents 7.3's make pecking sounds after they get the oil changed.
