Not sure what the noise is yet but they took truck to a fleet dealer whom has the capability of working on the truck correctly. Also I have notified FMC as a backup to make sure the truck is handled with care. The decision makers are supposed to call me in the morning to talk with me. I will keep you posted. I am worried sick about it but guess I just need to sit back and let the guarantee do its work - hard to do though. Hopefully I will Know something in the next day or so, thanks for checking on me and my girl (BIG BLUE)

Good luck with this. I know that it's sometimes impossible to get good service from a stealership, but that's why it's always good to have a few diesel mechanics working at the shop next door. I haven't taken mine into the stealer for anything, and more than likely won't ever. Good luck buddy.

They really think one of the wrist pins is making that noise?

if one of your wrist pins has walked out of the piston then i would demand a new motor! you spend $40,000+ on a truck and are already having motor problem with it 3k miles later. that is not right!

If the pin is coming out, the cylinder will probably be chewed, and I would hope they'd do a whole new motor as opposed to a new short block. There's a lot of oil to circulate shavings in there.

Hello all, Ford called me this evening and said they could not pinpoint where the noise in the engine is coming from so they are giving me a brand new motor. Hooray, Ford is standing behind this motor and not making the customer the lab rat while they try to fix this or change that. Thats what I hated about GM. Ford has been very understaning and cooperative with me thus far. Lets hope everything goes well. I should have the girl home in a week.

Ford is probably standing behind this motor because they don't want another 6.0 reputation so thats why your getting a new motor.
