08 DIED!!! CABS COMING OFF AT DEALERSHIP. I NEED YOUR OPIONIONS AND HELP.

08 Died on road at 89k miles. Dealership says they tested and possible hpop and hpfp may have failed. Talked to them today and said its probably internal motor problems and they will most likely be changing the short block. Also stated everything will be covered under warranty. I have a few concerns with this. Should they replace the whole engine if its underwarranty and not just change short block. If i decide to upgrade some parts do you guys think they will install for instance an egr delete kit. Its been in the shop 3 weeks already and they said they will have the cab off tomm. Im thinking im going to go stop over there and actually talk to the mechanic whos working on the truck to see some upgrades i can possibly do with the cab being off already. This sucks and i really like my truck and dont want to get rid of it but this makes me nervous when im bout to reach 100k miles. i have already fixed the radiator problem and it was in the shop about 2 weeks ago with and oil leak wich was covered under warranty and also paind 1400 bucks for maintenance and fluids. Kinda of nervous now to keep r to sell . I really like it but man scaired wuts gonna happen next . Wuts your thoughts? thanks

be glad that it's all covered, but the shortblock is just fine to replace. more than likely you dont need a crate motor/longblock. If youre really worried, spend the money and get an extended warranty.

I would run away from that dealer if they told you the HPOP went bad

Well I need mine too but if I had a dealership tell me something like that I wouldn't trust them to wash my windows, let alone do a cab off job. I would get a second opinion from a diesel shop or at least another ford dealer. My

Well thats what the service guy said about the hpop but he also just started workn there. heading to the dealership tomm to see the mechanic whos working on it and get some info from him.

just learn to be patient, my 08 f-450 with a 6.4 diesel spent 3 months at one dealership just to swap the short block and another 2.5 months at an other dealership just to fix the screw ups of the first one. finally got Ford to buy back my truck. Thank god for helping me get rid of that POS 6.4

'08 6.4's don't have HPOP's, just HPFP's!!! HPOP's are OUR PROBLEM!
