2010 6.4 EGR at 1200 miles......

Back in April I bought a new 2010 6.4 after finally having enough fun with my '04 6.0.
Incredibly (or so I thought)... at 1,200 miles, I lost power ...took to the dealer and they said it was EGR.
Suggested it may have had to do with it sitting at dealer.,..being started every once in awhile, and driven very little.
I was freaked out because I travel with a livestock trailer, and break downs on far away interstates are not convenient with a trailer full of animals.....
Anyway, my service tech suggested cetane additiove with every tankful, which I have done religiously.
I am now at 10k miles with no additional problems. Had EGR physically checked a few weeks back during the 2nd oil change, and they said it was clean.
I have had no further issues as of yet, and am hoping the 1200 mile failure was just a fluke, and not a sign of future unreliability.....
Leaving for a long trip next week, and just looking for some opinions.....
Anybody have anything similar? Chances it was a "once and done" problem?

could have just had one that intermittently stuck from sitting so long. cetane additive is pretty good stuff. not sure what to tell ya but hopefully its ok for now
