I did it!!!!!

Well I told you guys on Thursday that I was going to put on a straight pipe and see what happens. My truck sounds like a 747 now, I haven't stopped smiling since!!! Friday morning I got up early and went to the exhaust shop and my buddy talked me into just gutting the DPF and the cat just in case I have to take it to the dealership of warranty work another than the exhaust. He told me with the way it sounds that they might think it is just the magnaflow, I rolled the dice and the truck sounds amazing!!!!!!!!!! The stuff inside the DPF was insane, I guess it was ceramic and it was filled with pen head sized holes and when it held up to the light you couldn't even see through it, talk about restrictive. Any way this weekend was really busy with father's day and all so I wasn't able to get video, I will tonight. I was thinking about pics but it looks the same and would be worthless. and best off all no CEL and lots of black smoke!!!! Oh yeah for those of you who want to know what to do with the sensors, you leave them, they work on back pressure, both sensors are reading the same so no regen mode!

Is this going to void your warranty on the motor now? It says in the owner's manual this is to not be modified.

I personally believe it all depends on your dealership. If something happens with the exhaust or something related to the exhaust I know its not under warranty because I changed it, but if something happens like the radiator blows I believe in standing my ground. Now the dealership can't say that its the vents because the magnaflow has it and they can't say that its the DPF because its on there, I just hope they don't break it open, hahaha

Wow you are brave to gut the filter. What if the dealership shakes its mighty finger at you and say NO WAY MR. That thing has to be expensive. I'm glad it worked out, but I would have wanted the original filter to put back in.

See I wanted to do that too, but then my buddy started to talk to me about how much work would go into the straight pipe with the different sized bungs for the sensors and then to make it go from 3 1/2in. pipe to 5in would be a lot of hard work and if the dealership saw a straight pipe then they might just say no! straight up, but with it on there there really shouldn't be any reason for them to look at it, 400 miles and counting and no CEL.
