i'm sure this is way too late but again i can't read 50 pages lol if the sensor was causing it to go into regen. and you heated it up and it went out of regen. why not just take a VOM and check the ohms that the sensor was sending to the to computer...whatever it is add a resistor of that value to the wires of the sensor..it'll always see the voltage it needs and stay out of regen. would it not?

You still need to remove the DPF. Then when it goes into regen it will be looking for a different temperature range. It's a bit complicated.

Someone posted they had an exhaust that worked alone. They never posted again. It's unlikely that someone has an active exhaust system with advanced sensor fooling. If they did what would be the advantage? The tuners can disable regen and you can put in a DPF/DOC delete pipe.

Some mention of EGR delete has been trickling around but I'm not sure what the status of that is or which tuners handle it. I suppose you just eliminate (plug off) the Y-pipe coming off of the curb side exhaust manifold and the programming takes care of the rest.

Of course anything you mod on the truck exhaust will convert it to off road only and may still be illegal, and voids parts of the warranty.

yea my 08 has over 40,000 miles on it and is out of warranty already.

was hoping the resistor thing would work like the 02 sensors on a mustang when ya eliminate the cats .

The motor has 100,000 mile warranty.

I think some are fooling the ECM without reprogramming. That way they are supposed to be undetectable. You would still need to remove the DPF or it will get clogged and it's too expensive to maintain.

It's been done by people who have basically clogged the DPF and ended up removing it anyway.

Some are still running with them but I think it's been established that the system does not work for long after you boost the power. The DPF requires regen to clean it. Eventually you'll be in regen all the time but it will not be able to clean it out.

You have to get custom programming done to totally turn off regen, but I have heard of a trick that if you unplug the EGR while the truck is running the truck will come out of regen.....as far as mileage and power, hell yes there is an improvement

did you have to modify the computer to turn off regen after you gutted your dpf. If not does the computer have a maximum time or mileage that triggers regen even if the differential pressure is the same? I am nervous about gutting a $3000 dollar part that possibly voids warranty without some help figuring it out.
thanks for your help

Yes, he had to install different tuning which turned off the regen process. Don't gut it your DPF, get a delete pipe for an additional $300 over the cost of the tuning and programmer and put the DPF in a corner of the garage.

I think I'm gonna gut mine after it goes bad.

Maybe I'll try cleaning it first, anybody tried it yet?
