Loss of Power

Has anyone ever had this happen to them? I have an '08 F-350 with 56,000miles---I cranked it this morning and took off as usual. I got about 3 miles down the road when I came upon a slow vehicle and had to let off the gas. When I accelerated again, I noticed a jerking, like it wanted to die. It never did die. It would idle fine. I pulled into a gas station and killed the truck. I restarted it then the engine light came on. I put it into drive and it began jerking again and I couldn't accelerate at all. Ford house had to come tow it in. Haven't heard what they found yet. Any help??
