egt temp shutdown truck!

Was pulling a trailer today and my egt got to hot and shutdown my truck! I'm suppose to drive 1100 miles on Monday my truck finally started but is it reliable now? What can I do? I just ordered my dpf delete but it won't be in for over a week.any ideas to clean the dpf? Anything?

What temp did it hit to shut things down?

It didn't get over 1400 cas my alert would have gone off, the dpf was in regen right before.

EGT13 causes this. It is DOWNSTREAM of the DPF. Unless you are watching that sensor, you aren't going to see it go out of range.

Take it to the dealer and get it checked out -- make sure that sensor is not defective. I keep a spare in my glovebox just for cases such as this.
