massive amounts of white smoke, cracked EGR Cooler?

I have only had this truck a few weeks, initially i thought it was in regen. Now I know its not, DPF is gone and I have a tuner.

Before the DPF delete and tuner it would chug on acceleration and dump white smoke, now with a tuner and DPF delete it runs fine but dumps white smoke, and when I mean dumps its a TON.

It did it this morning right after I left home, then all day when I come to a stop it starts again.

I am missing coolant, Which I was initially filled it all back up then it held coolant fine for a week, no smoke ran great. Today it is LOW again and its been smoking white all day except for when I am cruising down the road, mainly at idle or in parking lots.

EGR Cooler? How do I know if that is it? I really dont think its head gasket, it would overheat, which I have had none of that.

I ordered some block off plates but who knows if that will work. As far as I can tell my tuner does not turn off the EGR.

It sounds like it is smoking every time your EGR valve cycles, which it does only at idle with certain tunes, like the 210 and up. Tunes under that cycle the EGR valve more. I would bet EGR cooler from the symptoms you're describing. Also, be careful NOT to hydrolock the engine!!!

What do you have left for warranty? If you are out or dont really care about warranty, just block the ****er. Its nothing but a pain in the *** anyway. It will throw a check engine light.

You said you were losing coolant as well. That doesn't look like oil smoke. I think EGR cooler.

yeah i keep coming back to the EGR cooler as well. Anyone know if you unplug the egr if that leaves it open or closed? I wish I could repeat the issue on demand.

Blown/Leaky EGR coolers. The block off plates seemed to have fixed it.

I pulled the lower cooler loose and coolant just dumped out on the floor.

Took about 3 hours to install and my left hand is in a cast. What a bare! No smoke though!
