08 6.4 engine nose 280.000 miles

have engine nose sounds like a lifter or push rod but it well goaway for a few seconds then come back. souns like its on the left side ( drivers side ) ive seen some post on here about stuck lifter bending push rods ?? . truck runs good and no power lose . i dont think its a injector but youi never know .

Are you saying 280,000 miles? or 28,000 miles? If your at 280,000 and still on your original set of injectors then I would say your due a set. Very interested to hear back from you this would be the highest mileage 6.4L I have ran across!

I hope he is saying 280,000! If you do have 280k on your truck, what sort have problems have you run across in that time? And maybe a video of the noise if possible, it might help diagnose it

ya it has 280.000 miles on it its a truck im working on and the guy got it new. he has had little problems with it egr valve etc

Could this be the infamous 6.4L tick that some have (and some don't)?

Is it a ticking/tapping or a knock (like a rod)?

check the rocker arms, they are bad about wearing out and sounding like lifter noise

I bet International would buy it as part of their defense in court against Ford? You own International's key to survival here. And it's only had 47 radiators and 20 EGR valves. Sorry if I'm being funny cause I own one also. 23,000 miles, a few oil leaks a radiator or two. God bless the Ford ESP 100,000 mile warranty. I hope my truck is paying attention to what yours did!
