Hello everyone new to this stuff dont even do face book.Been having alot of issues but most concened about revving.Have owned truck 2yrs this has happened 7 times always in gear (auto trans) always at a stoplight. Will rev to approx 1700 rpms. Most recently i was taking into dealer for warr work on 4x4 4th time backed out of garage put into drive did not even touch pedal it began revving to max out @ 3500rpms blew threw snow on drive started chunking rocks at my bronco I kicked into nuetral the whole thing took about 15 to 20 sec. Thank god my wife and kids wher not driving down the snow covered road .Dealer plugged into had no codes rad bottle down about 1.25 in tech said crankcase was about 5 qts overfull .They said motor needs torn down. They said they could not do it because they are being audited by ford took back to dealer of purchase that had told me the first time i took it back for repair had no diesel mech .Took to them they said man had been fired they called me and ask what kind of programmer i took off because codes had been cleared 36 miles ago. This dealer is 80 miles from my house it has never had a prog.truck has47000 miles know and is my wifes daily driver

Are you sure you don't have a Toyota pickup?
Kidding, kidding....I don't wanna be a wiener, but just out of curiosity, when all this was occurring, you had both feet off the pedals? My truck has bumped the idle a couple times on me, but I attributed it to myself having 13EEE feet pushing both pedals down at the same time. I fail to see the reason for engine teardown just because the engine oil is high. I've seen trucks with over 25qts in the pan, and teardown hasn't been necessary. What is the oil high from? Fuel? Coolant? Is there oil contamination in the charge air cooler? Send me a PM (since you said you're new, Private Message, top right corner of your screen on here.) on here if you want, leave me a phone number and I can give you a buzz and we can run through this a little if you want to. Hope this helps. |

My truck idles up almost everytime I go to back up to a trailer (usually happens after I back up and go forward a few times). I too have size 13 boots, but have completely taken my foot off of the skinny pedal and looked down to make sure I was not putting my foot off of both pedals. It is almost like the throttle stuck, but never past around 1200 rpms. I put it in park and it stops.

Interesting I just posted a similar issue on the Perf parts section as I have an SCT livewire thats been installed 1 week. Backing up today mine went into high idle at 1200 rpms. tapped pedal a few times and it stopped. I have an 08' Job3 F350 CC 4x4. It also smelled like burning rubber for a few minutes... Did any of you guys have that smell? Love this forum as it helps me realize I am not alone.
