ford suing Navistar over Powerstroke

Just got my may issue of Diesel power and on Page 28 Has a small paragraph about ford suing Navistar over warranty cost-sharing. I swear, I wish so bad for these to to figure this out I'm sure much of this is over problems with the 6.nothing, but it will roll to the 6.4 also

Exclamation Yeah I heard that too....

Ford probably isn't too concerned about it because if they don't work it out with Navistar it's Navistars loss. Ford will probably end up putting a Cummins engine in there trucks since Ford owns Cummins anyway.

Dodge has to give up Cummins in order for Ford to get that engine.

It wouldn't be the same engine. Ford would have Cummins design an all new engine for the fords (most likely a V8) and claim it's better than the in-line 6 dodge Cummins in order to promote ford sales. Having a Cummins motor in Fords' trucks would be more profitable for them.

What they should do is steal some Gremans and build there engines inhouse. The germans know diesel better than any US builder does. I know it will never happen but a CAT would be cool. I know the parts are pricy, but we all know that the name sells, and Cat sells

I'd need somebody a bit more knowledgeable than me on the issue, but ford does not own cummins. Back in the 80's ford had a sizeable stake in cummins stock (around 10% ownership), but sold that out many years ago before starting to do business with international. Somebody else chime in here if I've got my facts a bit mixed up? So basically its in ford's and navistar's best interests to shore up their rocky relationship. If ford stopped purchasing their engines, bad for navistar. If the engines keep having failures, bad for ford... They go hand in hand.

I was under the understanding of the samething, but like you I'm not totally positive and who knows what it really could be unless your on the inside at Ford. Being a business owner myself, I have learned not to put all of my eggs in one basket,
