Cab removal problems
I have a question for any one that has done the Cab removal. Long story short; I had my truck to the dealer for a small oil leak that turned into a big leak, that turned into removing the Cab twice, and having to replace the Body wiring harness. and RCM do to some strange short in the harness that wiped the module. Probem being I don't know what they did and doubt that the interior harness all of a sudden had a problem. I have 25000 miles on it and believe they shorted something else that will rear its ugly head in the near future. When I went to pick up the truck, the hack, I mean tech did not fasten down any of the factory tie points of the harness and also left multiple harnesses under the hood dangling. Problem is that I use the truck to haul my fifth wheel and Family on vacations and can't afford to get stranded in the middle of nowhere with a 3 and 4 year old. My guess is that the Tech shorted something and either doesn't know what(worse fear ) or he does know and used the harness excuse. I have much experience in control wiring and have not ever come across the all of a sudden dead short that could not be found on something that was actually engineered pretty well. Other things that are helping my fears is that the rear speakers were not reinstalled and the seat bolt caps were permatexed back on after they broke them. So anyways my question is what did they do to burn up the RCM? Sorry for the Rant, but this sucks!

Gosh,
I might talk with the General Manager about shoddy workmanship from what it sounds... Even call the State or National Ford Office. You should definitely get rectification there... |

Why the hell did they take the rear speakers out?

They replaced the body harness, tore out the whole interior.

yea, pm Hillbilly so he can do some digging for ya... be interesting to know what they actually did compared to what they told ya.
I'd definately be in the General and Service managers ears....loudly! |
