6.4 engine failed mar 07

I went ot dealer to pic up new truck, sorry cant , not runin right .
2 hours later ,dead cyl #2, next day broken rockerarm bent pushrod, later that day ford says put new parts in . 2rocker arms and push tubes and just in case new injector and fuel tube.
What is a man to do. I have had ford diesel pic ups since 1983 and never had a complete failure yet. but this truck was to replace an 06 6.o that was less than perfect, ford traded up with no money and then I got this. I want my 7.3 back with out epa bs.
No epa on political jets till then leave my trucks alone too .

sad thing your not the first to have trouble....a custormer of mine his uncle bought a brand new 6.4L PSD and with a little over 1000 miles on the truck he had a engine failure so the dealer gave him another truck to drive and the same thing happened only with 400+ miles on the truck so they gave him the third truck to drive and so far no problems and with a little over 600+ miles,he is a little gun shy of the 6.4L but loves the rest of the new truck he said it rides great and the interior is awesome...

that is exactly why i wont get the new 6.4L yet. Good looking trucks they are, but like the 6.0L it has bugs that will have to be worked out. SOrry to hear about the troubles bud, hope everything worls out for you.

Unless the CPS craps out on you or the intake heater shorts out and blows a fuse or the glow plug relay goes on a cold day. They all have their own issues and none are perfect.

With all I have heard about the new (6.4) truck problems, I am glad I have mine. I think I will drive it till it just falls apart. I figure I got about 50 years left in it!! LOL
Nevermind, not the way I drive it!!

seems awfull minnor compared to the news one...i agree with you every diesel has it problems and they all very from engine to engine...the 6.4L was designed by international and built by them but the electronics are designed by ford..not sure who to blame just my $.02
