Thanks for the reply Kaya, i looked at manifolds and didn't really find any soot. Bringing it in too my mechanic to get drivers side injectors changed next week anyway so i'm gonna have him take a look and see what he finds.
often times on these trucks, the rh exhaust manifold studs break at the front of manifold. unfortunately the ac compressor, alternator and heat shielding make it impossible to see. i usually listen in that area while someone revs it up.
could smoke test as well i suppose
Check the exhaust manifold bolts. It will be hard to see any soot down there. Put a wrench on them and tighten them. I've had to do it several times.
