Truck just died........ 5 hours later I am posting this on here. Its a sunday, and I dont want to go into church because the Bishop would ask me to leave.
Man, I really hated to read that!! My '09 F350 6.4L Longbed Dually CrewCab, Auto trans, 4x2, with Tow Boss just turned over 1200! So far 8.7 mpg towing at GCW of 24,970 lbs (GCWR is 26,000), running 65 - 75 mph. Solo mileage before towing was only 10.8 mpg (mixed city and hwy). Hopefully break-in will increase mileage.

Just over 10k- bought with just over 3500. Initial owner had fuel pump replaced @ 2100, @10,300 They put a nother fuel pump on and #5 injector and some gaskets and bolts. That was a 10 day repair. Two days later it quit running on the interstate .Now seven days later still haven't looked at it , Diesel tech is off. I am already looking for another truck. My 1st Ford in 19 years and more than likely the last! When it runs it has plenty of power but don't trust it now . Just lucky I wasn't 5 hrs away with the fam camping !

Awesome Truck

1. Replaced squeaky idler pulley at 1400 miles
2. Fixed minor oil leak (front cover i think) around 7000 miles
3. Replaced Charge Air Cooler at 6000 miles for white smoke and hesitation during rainy weather. There is a TSB for this one.

I now have about 10K on this truck and its by far the best vehicle i've ever owned. The fit and finish is amazing and seems even better than my 2007 Honda Accord. If she serves me well i plan to keep her for many years.

With a dealership like that, nobody could blame you if you bought a Dodge!!

On the latest leg of my trip, from Shreveport, LA, to Fort Smith, AR, through the Ouchita mountains, my mileage went UP to 9.1 mpg, with the same setup. Towing mileage mentioned before was all I-20 at 65 to 75 mph (Columbia, SC, to Shreveport, LA). The latest leg was mostly two lane highway.

If my new truck, which we picked up on July 21, starts giving me some of the same problems your's has, I'll certainly trade it off! And quickly!! It doesn't make sense to me that you have to drive your truck MORE MILES to REDUCE emissions! And, then they threaten you with a $10k fine if you take any action to improve your fuel efficiency! Maybe "Big Brother" has gotten too big!

8,000 miles and no problems so far. I reset the mpg when I bought it because it had 10 hrs and only 7 miles. I get between 22 and 23 mpg on the highway as long as i keep it under 2000 rpms and 18 to 19 in town. Its just a 2wd reg cab, so far i love it but after reading this thread im a little scared. Is it normal for these trucks to have so many problems.
