07, 6.4 regen loss of power

Ok, we got a 07, 6.4 diesel that's been to the dealer to many times to count. Have already looked into lemon laws and since this is California it ain't happenin'. Anyway, when truck goes into regen mode engine power drops and starts coughing and sputtering and won't go over 35 mph until regen is done. Then goes back to normal Operation. Went to dealer and they say no codes and no problems found. They're telling us it's operating fine and there is nothing to fix. Now, I'm not as sharp as some folks out there, but when your traveling at 65 to 70mph and suddenly your doing 35mph, somehow that just doesn't seem right or normal operations. Any clues?
thanks from the newbie

Search "Spartan", or "DPF" anywhere on the 6.4 forums, you will get all the info you need

Okay, What I'm hearing is that the problem that I'm having isn't fixable except by replacing the exhaust system completely and deleting the regen system that is federally mandated and did I mention this truck lives in California with its own emissions laws. Any way of disabling the system until its time to have the smog inspections?

Put the stock one back on with the stock programming when its time for emissions.
