Need help w/ tires and lift!!

I need some help here!! I have a chance of getting a set of chrome 24" rockstars with 38" tires for $1000.00. I would give up my factory 20s. The 38s have a little over half the tread left. I found a 8" fabtech lift for a 1000.00 Would you guys do this if you could? I am in need of a new set of tires as it is. Would you guys get 38s and left or just get new tires for the factory rims?

Doesn't sound like too bad of a deal...if you subtract about 600 for what it would cost you to get new tires then its only 1400 for some nice rims, big tires, and a lift
