Thank you guys so much for the awesome input! Jrod your truck is SICK WOW so is the one flowmaster showed me. I have a couple of more questions to ask. Am I going to need to get my speedometer recalibrated or what do I do there? Also do I need any special kind of shocks if I do go with the 8" fabtech radius arm lift. Keep in mind this truck will NOT be going off road! It's just gonna be a conversation piece . Also I have 8' garage doors u think that will be an issue with an 8" lift on 38's . Thanks again guys !!!

Thanks man. There is no way to recalibrate the speedos right now other than the dealer which can only do 35s I believe. I just know how much mine is off. Spartan should have it out soon with their programmer and there may be some stand alone devices in the future.

As far as shocks I would go with the Bilsteins or Icons. I've had both and like them both. It's a cheap upgrade for a noticeably improved ride. I have the Icon remote res shocks up front but you would be fine with the standard Bilstein or Icon shock if you don't want to spend the extra coin. If you are buying your lift from a local shop see if the can order the lift in components so you can get a good set of shocks. Most basic kits have crappy shocks. Worse case scenario you can ebay the shocks that come with the kit if you can't break it up. Just make sure you get the size you need for your lift.

I have an 8' door and I fit with probaby 3" to spare. I just have to be careful once it starts snowing and packing on the driveway. You should be ok, just watch it going in the first time.

LOL I never thought about snow but thats a good point there! With the bigger tires is it racking up more miles or does it effect the odometer? I just want a really aggressive looking truck that still rides good. Do you guys with 8" lifts have any trouble with drive shafts and such? Sorry for all the questions I just want to make sure I am making the right choice here!

Yes you are racking up more miles and going faster than the truck says. I think I'm about 15% off. As far as ride mine still rides great. Sure it handles a bit different being up in the air but the ride is still good. Drive shafts issues are hard to give a definite answer on. Some guys have vibrations stock, others have none with an 8". I currently have 2" of drop in my carrier bearing and I have no noticeable take off shudder but I do get some slight vibration on decel over 45-50 mph. I plan on adding a CV to the shaft to get rid of the vibration completely. Maybe others can chime in with what they've done to fix the driveline vibration after lifting because I'm certainly no expert.

Oh and you will definitely want to get a dual steering stabilizer whether you go 6" or 8".

I have virtually the same truck as you had Jrod80, how did you go from the 6" fabtech to the 8", what did you replace?

I replaced the front coils and shocks and then added a bigger block in the rear. It's pretty easy and cheap to go up other than I bought the Icon remote reservoir shocks. I was able to keep my rear Bilsteins.
