Black or plastidipped grill

any of you guys have any good pics of your blacked out grill? Id like to get mine painted but after the last winter storm we had blow though I noticed the chrome is really bubbling up on the grill now. Ive thought about plasti dipping it and using the glossifer for now but I don't know if it would turn out to well, I don't really want the flat black look.

I plastidipped my wife's chrome h3 grille, it's been 2 years and it has light rock chips.

I have a 2008 fx4 black painted grille and zero rock chips, I vote painted.

Cost will be much more for painted though

Good thing about plasti-dip is you can do it in about an hour in your driveway. And if it ever gets chipped, just peel and re-dip. Also much cheaper. I still need to do mine on my Harley Grill. Did the back emblem and it was holding up really well until I bumped it with a DA polisher. Just lifted the bottom edge enough that my OCD says to re-dip it. Nobody else would probably ever notice it though. I hit it with the pressure washer when blasting grime off the tailgate and it didn't even bother it.

I dipped my grille emblem. Apparently tony and I have the same OCD issue because(as all others do) the blue around the emblem was fading and peeling. I believe it was on the verge of givin me an annurism so I had to do something with it. It's only been dipped for a couple weeks but it's been hit with a pressure washer a few times and hasn't bothered it at all. I know it's not the whole grille, but just for kind of a reference.

I'm thinkin about trying to plasti dip it, I'm just worried that if I don't like it that when I peel it off it'll take the chrome with it

I plasti dipped mine white to match my truck and after a while it's kinda turned a cream color from the dirt that won't come off of it. I had the black textured grill, so that may be why I can't get it really clean. I'm gonna paint it when the weather warms up, but it's good enough for winter.
