Kenwood Dnx8120

I recently purchased a Kenwood Dnx8120, planning on installing it this weekend. I want to bypass the parking brake ground for playing video so when my wife are driving back home TN from IA she can watch DvDís. I know the bypass is just to ground the parking brake wire, but my question is; is there any reason why I canít just ground it to the ground wire in the harness? Seems logical to me, but just curious if any of you guys know why I shouldnít do it this way?

Thanks!

just realized I posted this in the wrong place - Sorry!
