Tinting Tail lights vs Buying Recons

Hello, I was curious as to what everyones opinions were on tinting tail lights. I was thinking about buying vht nightshades and slightly tinting them. I don't want anything ridiculous. Just enough to notice. If you have done this already please post some pics. Also, I would like to see some recon tail lights too. Whats everyones choice opinion, Tint or go with Recons?

I'm also getting a set of Recon Clearance covers with LED bulbs. I'm still debating on mirror lights. I don't know if I want to tint them or pay the $80 to replace them.

Tint all the way! I can upload some pics later of my newly tinted tail lights I did by myself for $15. All you need is Rust Oleum lens tint and some painters tape. They look good after your done and you can save your reverse lights by taping them up real good.

I used the VHT Nightshade and they turned out great! Just rememer prep is everything when you are spray painting. Take the lights out and clean good with soap and water, then use a very fine sand paper on them to add some grip to the paint, and the final step is very, VERY light coats. Less is more, let each coat dry for about 20 mins before you apply the next. I did buy LED bright bulbs off carid.com to compensate for the darkening factor. Still saved me 150 + dollars on new tail lights.

its a little dark but that gives you an idea of rust oleum lens tint
and Recon products are not only a rip off but they don't last very long. I bought a tailgate bar from them and two of the bulbs went out after a few days.

You gotta wet sand them things, clear them, wet sand again and then buff them out.
Here's mine that I did. I've done 20+ sets of tails. Get compliments on them all the time when truck is clean.
And here are my mirror lenses

Those look real nice. What type of clear coat do you put on after the tint?
