Bumper trade?

I was looking for anyone who would be interested in trading an all white front and rear bumper for my crome bumpers I have now. I'm trying to get the right look for my truck.

Paint 'em. I'm going to have my bumpers powder coated black. I was told it would be about $100 per bumper.

dont they have to strip the chrome before they can powder coat?

I've been told that it is easy to sand off.

chrome is a PITA to sand ...because you have the chrome ...nickle under the chrome and then the metal ......the best way is to have a chrome shop strip the chrome off

Thanks for the advice guys. The powder coading idea sounds good. If you have any pictures of your bumpers after their done let me know.

jmadigan: You stole my idea. LOL. That's what I want to do. I want two colors on my truck and chrome isn't one of them. White with some black. I've bought a white grill but haven't got it installed yet.

where are you located jmadigan? i might get a fx4 in september cause i cant find a lariat or xlt with black interior. i will trade you the black bumpers for your chrome ones.

The FX4 bumpers are a smoke grey, not black. I'm thinking about
putting FX4 bumpers on my truck ... which currently has chrome
bumpers on it. I'd be willing to consider a swap/trade. Remember
when you are looking into swaping bumpers that you have to determine
whether your rear bumper has the back sensors in it, and if the
bumper you are looking to swap in has the sensors or not. My
rear chrome bumper does not have the rear sensors ...

One day I like the chrome, the next day I don't

...
