Need Help with euro tails and the reverse light

Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I have some euro tails from a 99-07 super duty, the lenses look like they'll work for my 08. The problem I am having is the reverse light socket is different for the 08. Thought no problem ordered a couple sockets for the older model only to find out no pig tail. The dealership ordered in 3 different sets none of them will match the sockets they sold me. All the pig tails are $60 and up each which is about the same as I paid for the lenses. Can anybody help me out here?

Cut and splice the wires. Is about the only thing I can come up with. If you do this I suggest you solder and heat shrink the connections for water tight and long lasting. If you do it with crimp connectors over time water will get into the connection and cause corossion.

For everyone information, finally found time to completing the job ended up finding femail connectors that are used for repairing and making custom pigtails, they slid right over the male tabs on the 04 reverse light sockets, little snip solder and shrink tube and she's all done.

Sorry I didn't see this before.....and I'm glad you got it too work, but yeah you need to get a 2 light sockets from a 99-07 Superduty and then its just a simple cut, splice and re-wire to the new sockets

Not sure about the part number I'm on my British Columbia Camping tour, but I just went to my local Ford dealership asked for reverse light sockets for a 2004 F350, about $10 each, they couldn't find the pigtails to match but if you read my previous thread it explains what i did there

i just went through this. I cannot do anything electrical to save my life so i just lined up the socket as if it would fit perfect and just duck taped the crap out of it. This is what the guy at recon told me and what he did on his own truck, so far it works like a charm.
