99-07 to 08 conversion?

has any one tried to convert their 99-07 superduty into an 08?

I saw one on ebay but it was a junk v10 gasser with a billion miles. the truck looked great tho.

just wondering what all is involved in the conversion and maybe see some pics if any one here has done it.

I found a good thread on a difrent forum but none of the pictures worked.

been searching on thsi for a couple of days now and from what I have found seems like you need the inerfenders, fenders, radiator suport, hood, hood hinges, headlights, and they should all bolt up fairly easily. and the front bumper a guy would have to fabricate bumper brackets. and the mounting tabs on the front fenders where they bolt up in the door areah are in the wrong spots and either need to be cut off and re tacked... big washers and self tapping crews might be an option too.

then an 08 tailgate would top it off to finish the converson...

let me know if any one else has some more information on this.

I saw the X too. the one Im talking bout was a black 99 crew cab superduty.

yeah it would be kind of an expensive conversion but if you got a truck that already needed a new front clip it should be ok... I was just kinda curious to se if any one has done it.

its kinda funny I hated the 08 front when it came out! Now I think it looks awesome esp on a lifted truck. the ford lot has an 08 short bed crew cab with a 4 inch lift and 35's and i drive by it and drool every day.

but lets faceit here I will never have 50 grand to buy a new truck with and even if I did I would probly not pay 50 grand for a new truck not to mention Im not a big fan of the new engine. I figure you could have the looks of the 08 with the reliability of a 7.3 and pay a 3rd of the cost of a new truck.
