Back up camera

Anyone know of a replacement camera that can mount in the stock location, Tailgate handle? Mine has crapped out and ford wants $400.

Yup... A Ford dealer would be the last place to call. Go to car-part.com . fill out the info (year,make and so on) . Broaden the the search year from 08 to 12, cause they all fit. I think they are listed under "camera projector". Should be able to find one $150-$200 + ship. Now some of these places do not ship , but being just a camera shouldnt be a problem

Wonder if the new inside the Ford oval camera is an upgrade over the earlier in the handle models?

Before you get a new camera make sure to check the connections and everything is good on your truck. Esp the plug underneath the gate (unplug it and plug it back making sure its fully seated) thats what happened to me. Its kind of odd for a camera to go out like that.

If you are still looking for a camera, I have one. I got it off of ebay because Ford said mine was broke...and they were wrong so now I have two. Let me know if you still need one!

Update: turns out my old camera is done and the camera I got from ebay is done. Both are broke. Now.. I need to somehow contact the ebay seller and get my money back!!

Dude that sucks, mine works but the screen is blurry. I took it apart it looks like the coating on the camera is peeling.
