Gonna plasti-dip my Harley Grille

Well in an effort to rid my truck of anymore chrome, I'm going to plasti-dip my chrome Harley Grille. Watched a few videos and read a few threads on it, so hopefully it goes well. Anybody got any suggestions?

Not really, plastidip doesn't need much prep, do about 5 coats, if you tape anything off and spray plastidip on it, take a razor blade and cut it along what you want plastidipped and what you don't because the plastidip will peel off what you want covered.

Why not just get an FX4 grille and sell the Harley?

I plasti dipped my 6.0s grille when i had it but i removed the grille first. Came out great.

Just last weekend did my badges, chrome mirror caps and painted my headlights with plastidip..... Sanded chrome shot at least 4 coats then used matte clear coat.... Looks amazing

Plasti-dip is cool stuff ,but IMO only when is used on black plastic truck parts (bumper step,mud guards ...etc) .I tried it on chrome parts & it does nothing but cheapens the look of it. Try black chrome & Im sure you will love it. I did that to my grill, side vents and rims. I only put two light coats on it.The more coats the darker the finish. Spraying any ford logos or chrome with vht night shades will give it a black chrome look

My truck is an XL so it had nasty grey plastic all on it. I sprayed my grille, bumper, and rocker panels with it. That stuff is still there and still looks great!

Because the truck is a Harley and I'd like to keep the Harley parts
