tried to clean up an eyesore....

everyone knows that one of the downsides to the 08 trucks is that weird looking but supposedly functional tailpipe. i just couldnt stand looking at that discolored hunk of metal hanging out from behind my tire, so i busted out some 2000*F vht flat black header paint and went to town. i think it looks much better.

Looks pretty sharp! Different from the "normal chrome" tips! Nice work!

I was at the dealership the other day when I placed my order and there were a few XLT's on the lot that had Chrome tips. They actually looked pretty good. I dont know why they dont come standard on the Lariat / FX4 trims. There were a few things I was kind of disapointed with when I was ordering my 08'. You would think that the higher end models you could get the options that you want. I really dont like the way ford has split the packages up. I love the interiors of the FX4 but you cant get it optioned out like the Lariat. I already miss my 01' Lariat FX4. It had everything I wanted in it.

Well, I'm trading because I Really like the new SD and I have new car fever. I would just prefer a wider range of options for my money. Afterall, this is a $50k+ truck Im buying. Im not complaining because I do like the truck I just wish they would offer a little more. I like both the FX4 and Lariat packages and they are both in the high end of the lineup and you would think that you could get both optioned out the same. But I will be very happy once I get my new SD, its just a little frustrating that I cant get Exactly what I want.
