Automatic tailgate lock??

After a long search I can't seem to find any info about automatic tailgate locks. I want a lock that will lock the tailgate when I lock the doors. I found this 2008 & up Ford F250 & F350

after an internet search and wondering if anyone has installed one or installed something similiar? I'm planning to do the hose clamp trick also.

I have that exact same kit but I have not installed it yet. If you check ebay you can find them cheaper usually. I got mine for around $50 with shipping included I think.

What's the hose clamp trick?

My kit looked the same but was different brand. I highly recommend it. I have mine hooked up to the same wiring as the doors, so all lock together. If you lock the tailgate, no one can open it to steal it, so hose clamp may or may not be needed...

Would you put it on both pivots? Is this just a good truck if you don't have a tailgate handle lock?

well the right side (pass side on mine is the lift out pivot so that is all u need to protect

the plastic on the tailgate lock takes no time to bypass so this is another line of defense ,, but by this line of defense they would have unclipped the tailgate straps ans as soon as they couldn't lift it off they would drop it and maybe dent it against the bumper

I saw some for that price, but wasn't sure if it included everything needed. I ordered the kit for $90 and I'll let you know how the install goes.

Thanks everyone.
