center steering wheel...

I installed a 2.5" leveling kit this weekend and now I have a question. My steering wheel was turned about 45 degrees. I adjusted the link under the truck to get it back to 0 but the link on under the truck will have to be facing toward the rear of the truck to get it perfect. My question is this.. Can I just remove the safety arm thing or am I missing something? The bolt will only go in to the arm if it is facing the front of the truck. Hope this makes since...
