Tinted my side mirror lenses today..tail lenses next

Tinted my side mirror lenses with rustoleum tinted lens paint..tail lights are next.

First I wet sanded them with 800 till dull. Then I wiped them with acetone. Blasted them compressed air, then applied the paint.

I have the clear coat, but since the mirror cover plastic isn't gloss I'll leave the paint as is. I'll be doing the tails later this week. This took me
An hour to do both, it's fairly easy.

I did my front corners and tail lights and love them. Reg bulbs do fine in them but u can also get +40% brighter bulbs at so auto parts places.

Looks great man.

I painted them with the lights on and turn signals blinking so I could decide how dark to go, those pics were also taken in the shade. I'll check em out once it gets dark, if I'm not happy I'll just strip them down and do it over again.

As for the tail lenses, I'm still up in the air about them. I keep seeing on different forums that if you get rear ended that your insurance won't cover you because of the break lights obstruction by the tinted lenses. Does anybody know the truth on that? I may just faintly tint those.

What about doing the head lights? Does that lessen the brightness of the headlight beams?

Looks great! VHT makes a product called Night Shades. That's the best think to use out of a rattle can to tint stuff.

Yea I saw that at autozone too, read reviews on both but they were both pretty equal so I just picked the rustoleum can.

Night Shades is the product I used. As to the insurance ?, I have never heard of that. I have worked many wrecks. Most states laws read, this is not word for word on NC law but close, rear facing lights must iluminate to be visible at a distance greater than 200 feet at night. Check your local laws.
