Smoked cab lights and leds

So I bought the recon smoked cab lenses, amber led bulbs, and smoked mirror lights. I know the smoked plastic plays a big role, but they are alot dimmer then the regular stock ones. I was wondering if it was just me or if others noticed as well.

Yes, the smoked lenses will cut down the light output quite a bit, so it is a trade off on whether you want the brightest lights possible or the blacked out look.
There are alot of different led bulbs out there to try, i have these now and they put out alot of light:

Give them some time in the sun, they fade a little and will make them brighter. I have been buying amber 194 bulbs for my cab lights for a while and cant find any LEDs that are brighter than the amber halogen 194s so I still have halogen bulbs in mine

Same here. I tried white LED's in my amber lenses, but they were a lot dimmer than the halogens and more of a yellow than orange. Sticking with halogens for now. I did put LED bulbs in the tail lights and they look good and are plenty bright. There are a lot more LED's on them though.

I'll give it some time and I do have the amber 194 bulbs I'll change out at night and see.. and I don't like how the led lights are more of a yellow and not an orange

Same here, I bought amber led bulbs for the turn signals up front and my cab lights. Put them in and returned them because they were yellow but I guess they can't really make an orange led, but I bought my smoked recon mirror lights and they are yellow too so I may buy the amber turn signals again and just deal with it. Its just so hard to shop for LEDs over the Internet because you don't know the quality and how bright they are.
