I'm pretty sure i can get a gate real reasonable... i do all the towing for them too. I have helped them install a few lift gates in the past also

i'm here haha

i'm waiting for a few more bills and the 08 gate will be on my rig as Eric said. For what I understand, 1 side of the "hinge" is different. other than that, it slips right on.

i can't wait for mine... i love the look of 'em

Here are the pics of the two hinge parts you need. the driver's side gets a whole new hinge. the pass. side hinge is fine, but you will need a new insert and shim that go on the pass. side tailgate

info below.

1. Driver's Side Roller (hinge) - 4L3Z83430B39AA
Note: This part is a F150 part number
List Price = 6.83

2. Insert - E7TZ99430B22A
Note: Under this part #, you get the insert and the washer(shim)
List Price =7.58

Quick little Hijack...is there any reason an 08 tailgate w/ the step couldn't be swaped onto a 2000? Other than they charge an arm and a leg?

you may be right, as i have never really looked at that part of the '05's and up. I can only speak for my '04.

I guess i thought since your's is the same as the original one on mine, that part would be the same too.
