Color Matched Grille

The grill on my truck is starting to bubble and am considering having it color matched to my truck. Has anyone done this and if so, how did the paint hold up?

I have the FX4 grille on my truck which is color matched from the factory. Even with all the sand, salt, and gravel they use during the winter here, there are minimal marks on my grille. Seems like my bumper takes the brunt of the chips and pit marks.

if your grill is starting to bubble, its shot. you can not strip and paint that, its de-laminating, it would be covered under warranty if you still have one. pic up a used one and paint that, yours will continue to bubble and separate..

I figured as much. I've been looking for a reasonably priced FX4 grille. NO luck so far. Thanks for the info!

I had that problem with my grill and tried to paint it black but it chipped off easy so I bought one of those black vinyl grills and painted black to match and it turned out well no chipping and been running it for about 12000 miles. Paint sticks better to the vinyl/plastic whatever you want to call it looks like finished metal you can't see the texture from the vinyl which surprised me.
